Attendance
As part of our school’s commitment to improving the attainment of our pupils, we wanted to remind all families about attendance and punctuality.
Being late for school, or picked up early, regularly, can have a considerable impact on your child’s education over the whole school year:
5 minutes missed every day = 3 days of school lost per year.
|
10 minutes missed every day = 6.5 days of school lost each year.
|
15 minutes missed every day = 10 days of school lost each year.
|
Our School finishes at 3:00 pm Monday through to Thursday, and 1:00 pm on Fridays. Please be prompt in picking up your child. We understand that life is very hectic, but if we can support you in managing behaviours, transport, communication or strategies for your child, please let us know.
Regular school attendance is important. If your child is not going to attend for the day due to illness or other circumstances please call the school before 9:00 am and leave a message if you are unable to speak to someone directly. It is important that if your child travels on transport, you report their absence to the school directly and not through their driver/escort.
As part of our Safeguarding procedures, if we have not heard from you by 9.20 am as to why your child is absent from school, a member of the office team will begin First Day Calling, to see where your child is. If we are unable to get through to you, we will presume your child is absent with no reason, and they will receive an unauthorised absence mark.
Request's for Leave
From time to time we receive Leave of absence requests from parents for their child. There are multiple reasons why this request may be made. The school will consider all requests as individual cases. Your child's CURRENT attendance rate forms part of that decision making process. Leave of absence forms can be obtained from the office and all applications MUST be made in advance of the period of time requested.
